Update of Minnesota Court’s COVID Procedures

On Behalf of | Jan 31, 2022 | Firm News

Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, Lorie Gildea, has issued an updated order governing court proceedings.

Civil cases will continue to be heard mostly remotely through September 6, 2021. Local chief judges will determine whether civil jury trials can be held in-person, with the instruction that criminal jury trials are the priority. Criminal jury trials will continue to be held in person as will grand juries.

Access to in-person hearings will be limited to the parties in the case, their attorneys, necessary court staff, and media representatives.
