About Our Law Firm
Steven Messick founded our firm in June 2020. Prior to starting Messick Law, PLLC, Steven was an associate and shareholder in the law firm of J. Scott Braden, P.A., in Faribault, Minnesota. Steven served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Judge Thomas M. Neuville (retired).
Steven is AV Preeminent peer-review rated* through Martindale-Hubbell for strong legal ability and high ethical standards, and he has also been selected for inclusion in Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Stars since 2019, and the Super Lawyers list since 2021. Steven is currently a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Council and serves as a referee on the Rice County Conciliation Court.
Prior to joining the firm in September 2020, Jacquelyn practiced with a respected family law firm in Oakdale, Minnesota. Jacquelyn has been selected on the Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Star list since 2019, and devotes significant time to pro bono representation through Dakota County.
Connor joined the firm in November 2020. Connor formally clerked for the Hon. Christine A. Long (Rice County). Before becoming a lawyer, he worked as an architect, responsible for the design of large commercial structures in more than 25 states around the country.
Prior to joining Messick Law, Matt worked as an attorney editor at Thomson Reuters, as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and as a judicial law clerk in Dakota County.
Matt favors a creative, collaborative, and results-focused practice style and is keenly aware that every case requires its own unique approach.
Prior to joining Messick Law, she worked for a well-respected litigation firm in Minneapolis and externed for Target’s corporate legal department.
She uses her skills to diligently pursue the resolution of legal disputes with care and diplomacy.
Christine is the Lead Paralegal and Business Manager at Messick Law, PLLC. Prior to joining Messick Law, she worked for a well-respected real estate attorney in Faribault and was the Manager and Social Media Director for a fitness center.
